The ascent to Capanna Regina Margherita (the highest mountain hut in Europe), located on Punta Gnifetti at 4,556 meters, is a magnificent high-altitude route set in a spectacular landscape: the immense glaciers of the Monte Rosa massif.
The panorama is truly unique and stretches from the 4,000-meter peaks of Valais, to the Matterhorn, the Mont Blanc, and across the entire Po Valley.
Technically not difficult; physically demanding due to the high altitude reached.

  • Il tuo programma

    Day 1
    The meeting point is at Staffal.
    Overnight stay at CittĂ  di Mantova Hut or Gnifetti Hut.
    Dinner and overnight stay.

    Day 2
    Breakfast and departure at 4:00 a.m.
    Ascent to the summit and return to the hut.
    Lunch and descent to the valley.

    - Mountaineering boots (waterproof, high-cut, crampon compatible)
    - Harness

    - Classic ice axe

    - 35-liter backpack
    It is possible to rent specific equipment at the hut, subject to reservation and availability.
